In memory of David Tozer:

He was committed to exercise for wellness and loved bringing people together to enjoy the outdoors.

Arushathon

The Arushathon competition consists of a 5-kilometer run followed by an 800 meter swim. As the swim will be in heats, runners will NOT go directly from 5K finish into the pool. Rather, heat times will be announced in advance.

The Arushathon trophy will be awarded to the lowest combined time for the two (2) events. Arushathon trophies will be awarded in gender and age group categories.

The Arushathon awards presentation will be at the SCIS pool, following the completion of the 800 meter swim event.

The David Tozer Memorial 5K takes place on Sunday morning at 9:00 am.

The first heat of the 800 meter swim will begin at 10:00 am. Arushathon participants will be assigned swim start times in early January.

100,000/= 5K run + 800m swim entry (can enter additional 4 swim events + 3K)

Registration will close on Thursday, 11th January.

Middle & Long Distance Swim Gala

Events on offer are 200 meter up to 3 kilometer “open water.”

  • 200s & 400s will be swum in categories 10 & U, 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & O

  • 400 IM, 800, 1500 & 3K "Open Water" will be swum in heats but results in age categories: U18 and 18+.

Each swimmer will be allowed to swim a maximum of 5 events + 3K “open water.”

FINA stroke rules apply to all strokes, and a one start rule shall apply.

As Tanzania’s only swim gala dedicated to middle and long distance events, Swim & Sprint is a great opportunity to achieve PBs in long distances as swimmers will not be overly tired by many shorter events.

Entry includes a Red Knot Swim & Sprint T-shirt (size first registered, first served). All race podium places will be awarded bespoke “medals” created by Shanga Crafts.

70,000/= Swim gala entry (up to 5 swim events + 3K “open water”)
100,000/= Swim gala entry + 5K run

Please find more details in the official swim summons and schedule below.

We do ask official swim clubs to register your members (for both swim & run) via the process outlined in the swim summons above.

Registration closed on 30th December.

100% of all Swim & Sprint profits go to support Red Knot’s community development work here in Tanzania. All proceeds from the dinner will assist us to build a dairy goat banda on the farm.

The farm will open to the public Friday at 17:00 for free tours — all are welcome — with a cash bar on site (beer, soda, wine and an assortment of craft cocktails).

Dinner seating will be from 19:00 - 19:30. Four (4) tables for six (6) guests are available for the dining experience. Dinner is adults only.

Dinner will be in 4 courses and served family style:
